Yes, I've been following this series for some time now. It started out as a tad curiosity but the show turned out to be quite decent. Unlike many of the food related anime(though I actually don't know that many), it keeps exaggeration minimal. That is, people don't start flying off to heaven after tasting amazing cake(or something along those lines). Main character Ichigo has special talents; exceptional memory in taste and ability to accurately analyze them. However, her gift doesn't make her an instant super star. Her talent isn't glaringly obvious or change the fact that she is novice in cooking. She improves gradually though hard work. And I like that. On the downside, many elements of the show are text-book case of shoujo manga. Characters like Kashino, is a typical hero of shoujo manga. Always act annoyed, mean to the heroine at first but changes his attitude, cocky, etc, etc. At this point, I have no doubt what-so-ever, that Kashino will end up with Ichigo. I'm always amazed by the popularity of this kind of characters because in all honestly, their personality comes off as annoying to me(and I'm telling you, more than 90% of the times, these annoying guys get the main heroine). Another thing that bothered me was how they always make Andou to create matcha related food. It's always matcha this, matcha that. Come on! Show me some creativity!
Anyways, Ichigo and her friends are now in the competition for Cake Grand Prix. Unless this is a 2 cour series, they will probably lose, because I believe it is too early for them to achieve number 1 spot at the moment. Besides, main character need to taste the bitterness of losing before she can grow up as a true pro. I'm guessing they will compete till the very end but will lose in the final or semi-final.
On the other hand, preview for episode 16 hints the beginning of love triangle. As I have noted earlier, I already know the winner. I just hope they don't make Kashino too annoying because I already dislike him.
*p.s: Of course, appearance of cute fairies is another thing I like about the series.
