This episode reminded me of Evangelion in so many ways. The method they use to control mecha is exactly the same. Even the fact that they have a test simulator inside
LCL green liquid is similar. When that Xam'd woke up and went berserk, it was hard not to think of Evangelion 0. And the way those gates close... Oh, and that weird cord they use to send brain signal to mecha? Seriously... That was so matrix (or GITS, but I was thinking matrix)
There were some interesting moments in this episode, including that blond security commenting about her hair. Kakisu says "I don't like it..." and later we see that her hair has changed back to the usual tied up hair. ^^
Another one was Furuichi's feelings towards Haru. It was hinted many times before and this time, he was quite close to actually telling her about his feelings. I think his jealousy will definitely be put in use for story developing. Sigh... I can already see him fighting against Akiyuki...
- That berserk Xam'd looked like it had two soul in it. One looked like a baby. Kind of hard to imagine Xam'd giving a birth... but it definitely looked like it. I'm guessing the "mother" hiruko is trying to protect the baby?
- They haven't shown how Haru did when she first learned how to control the mecha. Oh, but I'm sure she raped it. I'm sure we'll see her amazing mecha skill in the next episode.
- What's with the moonlight and moon inferences?
Talking about inferences, there were many, too many inferences, such as rabbit and turtle's race or "A seed that doesn't take root leads a brief existence". To be honest, it is hard to connect those inferences to the situation of the characters. I mean... I wonder if the script writer was trying to say something, or was just using inferences to make it look "cool". Either way, too many of those kinda bothers me when I watch this show. I hope they tone it down a bit. They might connect to episodes later on, so I'm not going to say more (cuz I might embarrass myself right? ;p)
Anyways, since this show is so similar to Evangelion, it is hard not compare the show's quality with it. While animation quality is definitely top notch production, I'm not enjoying the show as much as I did with Evangelion. I just hope this show doesn't become the second Rahxephon....
*p.s: Oh, and I just KNEW that bubble was going to blow up when that worker laughed at it;;;
