TV series
I didn't like it as much as the first OVA series but I did enjoy watching this one. I think it is a decent show. It has a totally different universe setting compared to the OVA so you can think of it as an independent series. Tenchi is famous for it's parallel world series and this is one of the major ones.
Packaging is alright but definitely not the usual good looking Geneon packaging I have seen. Then again, this was released long~~ time ago, so this isn't that bad after all. I do like the box quite a bit.
Movie
I only bought one movie for this series because it was on sale. I think there are total of 3 movies. I actually didn't think it was all that great. When it is a Tenchi series, I didn't see enough Ryoko and overall mood was way too serious and gloomy.
Video quality for the TV series was not that great. It also had the hard-sub time to time. Quite a bit of rainbows. Movie series on the other hand, had a decent video quality if I remember correctly.
