I think it was around this episode where I started liking this series when I was reading the manga. I was really fond of the story development because I could sense that finally there's a big story arc that can tie things up a bit.

First half of the episode was Kid vs. Chrona but it ended rather prematurely because of Kid's symmetry fetish.  I felt a bit unsatisfied with the action. While I have nothing to complain about animation quality or action scene itself, it was a bit frustrating how after draggy prelude last episode, the fight never get concluded thanks to Kid's symmetry fetish. Still, you can see how Kid can corner Chrona without too much trouble even without using his soul resonance. I think that's pretty impressive. Considering how She got a lot stronger compared to the last time we saw her fighting with Stein.

Second half was a good dose of story development. We get to know that Shinigami-sama can't move away from Shibusen because of Kishin. At the same time, Medusa finally made her move. It is interesting to see how Stein, the strongest graduate that Shibusen has produced tremble because of Medusa. That means either Medusa is super strong, or Stein isn't as strong as Shinigami-sama boasted about. Judging by the conversation between Stein and Sid, it seems like witches are generally very strong compared to Shibusen students. Which makes me wonder how the power balance really works in this series.

Anyways, good episode. I would have liked to see Kid's true power but oh well, I hope we see it sometime soon. Next episode will be another Excalibur story. I actually don't remember this one from the manga. I wonder if it is original story or I just don't remember it.

*p.s1: I wonder what that little dragon was... I'm guessing it was demon sword before it went inside Chrona? I don't really remember...
*p.s2: So Chrona, are you a girl, or a guy? ^^;;;

아마 원작도 이쯤부터 재밌어지기 시작했던 것 같습니다. 이야기 전개가 상당히 마음에 들었죠. 드디어 뭔가 큰 스토리가 움직이기 시작한다는 느낌이랄까요?

이번화 초반은 키드 vs. 크로나 인데, 키드의 좌우대칭 패티시때문에 어이없게 끝나버립니다. 액션 자체나 애니메이션 퀄리티는 좋았지만 저번화의 긴 도입부 후에 이렇게 싸움이 제대로 종결돼지 않아서 좀 불만족스럽더군요. 그래도 여혼의 공명도 없이 크로나를 몰아넣는 키드를 보면 참 굉장하다는... 특히 저번에 스타인과 싸운 후에 상당히 버전업을 해서 돌아왔는데 말이죠.

후반은 스토리 전개입니다. 사신이 시부센을 떠나지 못하는 이유가 귀신과 관련이 있다는 것을 알게돼죠. 그리고 드디어 메두사가 움직이기 시작합니다. 시부센 졸업생 최강이라는 스타인이 메두사때문에 벌벌떠는 것을 보면 참.... 메듀사가 엄청 강하거나 스타인이 사신이 말했던 만큼 강하지 않거나겠죠. 스타인과 시드의 대화를 보면 마녀는 시부센 장인들보다 대체적으로 강한 것 같습니다. 이런걸 보면 이 작품은 파워 발란스가 어떻게 돌아가는지 좀 궁금하네요.

어쨌든 볼만했습니다. 키드의 진정한 힘을 보지 못한게 아쉽지만, 뭐, 조만간 볼 수 있기를 바랍니다. 다음화는 또 엑스칼리버 이야기입니다. 사실 원작에서 엑스칼리버 이야기가 또 있었는지 기억이 않난다는...;;; 혹시 오리지널?

*덧1: 그 조그만 용가리는 무엇이었는지 궁금합니다. 크로나 안에 들어가기 전의 마검인가? 기억이 잘 않나네요...
*덧2: 그래서... 크로나는 남자? 여자? ^^;;;

Hmm... pacing is once again a bit slow this time around. Last two episodes have been great in terms of pacing so I thought it would be the same here but I guess they decided to go with the usual two episodes per fight pacing (just like manga, I guess). That being said, comedy was decent (not as great as the last one though) and animation and directing were great. I loved what they did with the Maken(Demon Sword)'s transformation.

Not much to say about this episode other than that, as this was like a prelude for a Demon Sword vs. Death the Kid. Though I have to say, for a son of Shinigami-sama, Death the Kid sure is missing a lot of knowledge. I'm not sure if this is deliberately hidden from him by Shinigami-sama because later, as story progress there are more things that Shinigami-sama is hiding in Shibusen. It just seems a bit fishy.

*p.s1: Death the Kid... Trying to be cool, but after running around getting cornered because he can't use just only one gun ^^;;;
*p.s2: I wonder what exactly happened after Liz & Patty tried to rob Death the Kid.
*p.s3: Patty's expression while Liz was getting sucked inside the ship? Priceless.
*p.s4: The reason why Death the Kid chose Liz and Patty was just so... Death the Kid. lol

음... 탬포가 좀 느린듯? 저번 두 에피소드는 페이스가 딱 좋던데 이번에는 평소의 싸움 하나에 2 에피소드 페이스로 돌아왔군요 (만화가 딱 이렇게 나누는 것 같던데...) 개그신은 볼만했습니다만 저번화만큼 재밌진 않더군요. 애니메이션 퀄리티나 연출은 좋았습니다. 특히 마검변신은 상당히 멋지더군요.

이번화는 마검 vs. 데스 더 키드의 도입부 같은 에피소드라 특히 다른 할말은 없군요. 그런데 데스 더 키드는 사신의 아들임에도 불과하고 시부센에 대해 모르는게 너무 많은듯. 사신이 일부러 정보를 숨기고 있는 것인지... 원작같은 경우 가면갈수록 사신이 숨기는게 많아서 좀 의심이 가던데...

*덧1: 음... 데스 더 키드... 총 하나만으로는 싸울 수가 없어서 에피소드 내내 도망다니다가 이제 폼 잡아봤자... ^^;;
*덧2: 리즈와 패티, 키드 강탈하려고 한 다음 어떻게 됐는지 궁금하네요.
*덧3: 리즈가 배 안으로 빨려 들어갈 때 패티의 표정. 최고.
*덧4: 데스 더 키드... 리즈와 패티를 고른 이유가 너무 데스 더 키드 답다는...;;;

Hilarious episode. After an intense episode last time, this was a good break episode. I personally found Death the Kid crowd the funniest. While it was obvious that Kid will have trouble writing the test, it was a surprise that even the older sister ended up bombing her test. All she did for preparation of the test was picking out her eyebrows and polishing her nails. ;;; And here I thought, she would try to study when she changed into that OL look! lol... On the other hand, the younger sister, as usual, I have no idea what she was thinking;;;

I was surprised to see Maka not even smiling after getting the number one position or showing any kind of sign of relief. She actually seemed rather empty after checking her mark, which I don't really get. And she was super nerd about the test, too. Did she enjoy studying so much that she misses it already? 6-_-;;;

ED changed this episode. I was actually getting sick of the last ED so I was quite glad that I don't have to hear that again. New ED was quite good and animation was quite stylish, too.

*p.s: It seems like Maka's dad would be made fun of no matter what he does;;;

뒤집어졌습니다. 저번화의 긴장을 풀어주는 좋은 에피소드 였던 것 같네요. 개인적으로 데스 더 키드 와 무기들이 제일 웃기더군요. 키드가 시험을 망치는 것은 뻔하지만 설마 언니까지 망칠줄이야... 시험준비는 눈썹뽑고 메니큐어 칠한 것 밖에 없네요;;; 그 "할수있는 여자" 포즈에서 제대로 시험공부를 할 것이라 생각했더니만... 동생쪽은 언제나처럼 도대체 무슨 생각을 하고 있는 것인지 모르겠네요;;;

시험이 끝나고 1위를 차지했음에도 웃음이나 안심한 모습을 전혀 보이지 않은 마카가 좀 희한했다는... 오히려 뭔가 공허하다는 표정을 보이는데, 잘 이해가 안가네요. 그렇게 1위를 하겠다고 의욕만만이였으면서... 너무 공부가 좋아서 벌써 아쉽다던가? 6-_-;;;

이번화에 ED가 바뀌었네요. 사실 저번 ED에 질렸기에 그 ED 더 안들어도 된다는 것 만으로도 만족. 새로운 ED 애니메이션도 상당히 스타일리쉬하고 음악도 좋군요.
