This is the show where Junichi Sato's directing skill shines. Ending for this series was just jaw dropping. While it does have the usual corny anime moments, I really enjoyed watching this series. Lots of dynamic movements which I liked, though it was probably possible due to simple character design.

Package is really nice. I bought the thinpak sets. Space saving and nice looking and DIRT CHEAP. If you complain about the price for this series, then that just means you never had any intention to buy this series.

Video Qualtiy was okay, but had that green tint I see often from ADV titles. I'm not sure if this is the problem of the video source or encoding.

Gonzo was more than decent back when Last Exile was announced. Yes, there were quality drops but this series was quite impressive looking back then and I was very fond of the setting. I think it had a decent storyline, too. Conceptual design by Murata Range. Too bad we don't see any anime based on Murata Range's work because I was really fond of his designs.

Package wise, this is a great looking release. There were people who complained about Geneon not using the Murata Range's illustration for the cover, but I think these covers are more than decent. They all have the metallic coating on. LE comes with a cute figure of Alvis. Artbox is one of the best I've seen for R1.

Video quality was pretty good if I remember correctly. Usual decent Geneon quality. It was okay video quality now that I look at it again.

This was VERY similar to Evangelion. Unfortunately, it didn't have the same impact. At the same time, it had a much better conclusion in my point of view. I think it would have been more to my taste if they had more focus on love story, but that's just me I guess.

TV Series

I bought the thinpak set for this series. I remember the original single release had a really nice inserts but I wasn't into this series enough to go for that. I'm not too fond of the box design but ADV thinpaks usually have a good solid quality to it so I'm okay with it.

Movie

<Click pictures to enlarge them. Click arrows to see more pics>

Package wise, this is more than a decent release for a movie. I remember they had a gorgeous looking box that came with the LE version that can hold all the TV singles and the movie. I didn't get the single so I couldn't get that one.

Video quality for both TV series and Movie seemed decent but I don't remember about them too much, so can't be sure.

Cowboy Bebop's director Watanabe and Manglobe's samurai action series. I think it really had the best samurai action scenes I've seen so far. Hip-hop-ish BGM and fast blade action really drawn me in. However, story-wise, I have to say, I wasn't really impressed. I didn't get the same impact that I got from Cowboy Bebop.

Package looks good but quite simple at the same time. I regret not getting the artbox but oh well, too late now. Each inserts seem to have staff comments.

Video quality seems pretty good. It has DTS sound track, too. Pretty decent release, I think.

I think the main attraction of this series is the fantastic setting. Story itself was pretty decent but it ended kind of abruptly, which is a shame.

Package seems pretty simple. Inserts include detail information of the monsters and some background information.

Video quality seems okay to me. I don't remember anything too noticable (but then again, it has been awhile since I've watched this show.)

Last season of Tenchi Muyo! OVA series. I was fairly disappointed by how things were concluded. Not only it was unsatisfying way to end things but it was pretty bad in terms of quality and story. It was obvious that they didn't have enough budget to make things right.

Packaging is pretty nice. I'm not a fan of Tin-case because it doesn't fit properly into the shelves.

I forgot to take screenshots for this one. Too lazy to go back and take it but video quality wasn't all that great. First of all, too blurry. Secondly, microblocking.

TAG Masaki, Tenchi
Read or Die. OVA was a great action flick. It was rather Holywood like than typical Japanese anime and for a 3 episode series, it did a good job on expanding the story and concluding it. TV series on the other hand started off great. However, animation quality was inconsistant and I didn't really think ending was all that great. Still quite an enjoyable series. I also liked 007 like BGM for both series.

OVA

<Click pictures to enlarge them. Click arrows to see more pics>

OVA packaging seems average. I'm not a fan of posters so I think it would have been a lot better if they could have included a simple insert instead.

TV series

<Click pictures to enlarge them. Click arrows to see more pics>

TV packaging is pretty good. Usual nice Geneon packaging. I missed the first pressed material for the first volume. You get pencil boards for first pressed. Insert has comments from staff.

Video quality for both series seems pretty good. I remember seeing a bit of microblocking on blacks for OVA but not too much.

I bought it because I liked the art style, but to be honest didn't enjoy it too much. I think it was around the time I bought this series when I learned that just because other people say it is a good show doesn't mean I would enjoy it.

Packaging is okay. It has reversible cover which probably has the missing R2 covers. Video quality seems fine.

Infamous... incest anime? lol... 30 years old X mid school kid. (Quite realistic series considering the weird setting) I think there was a point where things went... a bit too far, in my point of view.

<Click pictures to enlarge them. Click arrows to see more pics>

I didn't buy the box but did get the stickers which I think is first pressed material (though I bet it is included in the boxset -_-+) Packaging was just average.

Video seems rather blurry but encoding itself looks fine.

The only movie I own that is from director Shinkai. To be honest, I didn't like this movie too much ^^;; While visual looked AMAZING, I have to say, I wasn't too satisfied with the story.

Released by ADV. Packaging looks okay. Nothing to comment here;;;

Video quality looks fine. I think this is one of the shows that would shine on Blu-ray (which is probably why it did so well in Blu-ray format). I don't think I will re-buy this in Blu-ray though.
