Now, this is what I wanted from Production I.G. SF with style and action. This is where Masamune shines the most. Animation quality through the roof, action scenes you would expect from Production IG, and story from Masamune Shirow. On top of that, that annoying grey-ish coloring I see from every single Production IG series is finally gone! I actually couldn't believe how bright this series looked!Let's just say this is probably the next GITS for you. Actually, not only style but even the content is very similar to GITS. Android (horon, what they call it?) and cyber space Meta Real(Or Metal), and conversation without opening your mouth (GITS, ghosts could talk like this)... Even with all those same elements, this looks like a completely different series.
First episode starts with an accident 50 years ago. After the accident during diving, Haru went into coma, waking up into a whole different world. Kushima, the scientist who was investigating "Chiku-ritsu" (I think it means earth rate) phenomenon, wants Haru back, but Haru refuses, saying that he is waiting for an answer from the sea. However, by the end of the episode, he ends up entering the Meta Real, inspired by the helper, Aoi Minamo, volunteering temporarily.(By the way, the name of the worker who came to bring Haru is Aoi Sota. I'm sure you can guess the relationship ^^) It is not clear what Meta Real is, in this episode and the purpose behind it.
Just enough information has been released for me to get interested. I will definitely watch the second episode. Highly recommended.
