Toaru Hikuushi e no Tsuioku: Trailer
Anime News / 2011/04/22 12:33
Finally, a proper trailer with anime footage is up: link
Summary (from ANN):
Director: Shishido Jun (Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger, Story of Saiunkoku)
Screenplay: Okudera Satoko (Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars)
Character Design: Matsubara Hidenori (Ah My Goddess! TV, movie, Gankutsuou, Sakura Wars)
Mechanical design: Yamada Katsuya (Captain Herlock OVA, Key Animation in Howl and Metropolis)
Trailer wasn't flashy and to be honest, animation doesn't look as smooth as I would expect from a movie (I guess it could be just that there wasn't much movement shown in the trailer). But background music really sets a good atmosphere by hitting all the right note. It seems like all the aircraft are done in CG. I hope it is up to a tolerable level. I'm not sure what to say about the director since I haven't watched Hajime no Ippo second season and I can barely remember Saiunkoku. Okudera Satoko, while I did find the plot in Tokikake and Summer Wars not as smooth as I would have liked them to be, I like the tone he sets in his dialogues, so I'm happy that he is working on this movie. I heard great things about the novel so I am excited about this movie. Unfortunately, the earliest I can watch this would be late spring or summer next year when the BD hits the market.
